Child Abuse Prevention Training Policy

The WWFY considers Child Abuse Prevention a significant responsibility for everyone working at the facility and recognizes the importance of providing training to our employees and volunteers related to their roles and responsibilities.

The WWFY recognizes the importance of providing training to our employees and volunteers related to their roles and responsibilities. Since the WWFY considers Child Abuse Prevention a significant responsibility for everyone working at the facility, the WWFY requires that all employees and volunteers complete a 90-minute Child Abuse Prevention web-based class before working at the facility.

Employees:
All employees, before starting employment, must complete the Foundations: Preventing Abuse in Youth Serving Organizations course. Thereafter, employees will be required to complete this training every year.

Supervisors:
In addition to the Foundations: Preventing Abuse in Youth Serving Organizations course, new supervisors are also required to complete the Abuse Risk Management for Supervisors: Supervising for Safety course. Thereafter, supervisors will be required to complete this training every year.

Volunteers:
Effective March 1st, 2024, Volunteers must complete the Foundations: Preventing Abuse in Youth Serving Organizations course before starting their volunteering. The training will be assigned by the HR administrator. Thereafter, volunteers will be required to complete this training every year.

Board of Directors:
Effective June 1, 2024, all Board of Directors will be required to complete the Child Abuse Prevention training annually.

Third Party Organizations:
Effective April 1st, 2024, Third Party Organizations will be required to complete the Foundations; Preventing Abuse in Youth Serving Organizations course prior to
beginning their work at the WWFY. The training will be assigned by the HR administrator.
